How laser hair removal works
Laser hair removal uses light energy that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair. The heat travels down to the follicle and damages its ability to grow new hair, while the surrounding skin is protected by the laser’s cooling tip. Because hair grows in cycles and only actively growing hairs respond, you need a course of sessions to treat each follicle at the right stage.
Most clients see a noticeable reduction after the first few sessions, with smoother, longer-lasting results by the end of a course. Occasional maintenance sessions can keep results at their best.
The Soprano Titanium Ice
We use the Soprano Titanium Ice, a diode laser that combines four wavelengths in one treatment. Using several wavelengths at once means it can target hairs at different depths and suits a wide range of skin types, including tanned skin. A large applicator makes treatment quicker, and built-in ICE cooling keeps the skin comfortable while the laser works.
What happens at your consultation and patch test
Your course starts with a consultation. We ask about your medical history, any medicines you take and your recent sun exposure, look at your skin and hair type and agree the areas to treat. We then carry out a patch test, which must be done at least 48 hours before your first full session, so we can check how your skin responds and set the right laser settings for you.
At each session, the area should be freshly shaved. Treatment time depends on the area, from a few minutes for the upper lip to longer for full legs or the back. Sessions are usually spaced [four to eight] weeks apart, depending on the area and how quickly your hair grows.

How to prepare and aftercare
Shave the area the day before or on the day of your appointment, but don’t wax, pluck, thread or use hair-removal creams for four weeks beforehand or during your course, as the laser needs the hair root to be present. Avoid sunbathing, sunbeds and fake tan on the area for at least two weeks before and after each session.
After treatment, the skin may look slightly pink or feel warm for a few hours. Avoid hot baths, saunas, heavy exercise and perfumed products on the area for 24–48 hours, and use a high-factor sunscreen on any treated area exposed to the sun. Treated hairs shed over the following one to three weeks.
Who laser hair removal is suitable for
The Soprano Titanium Ice suits most skin types and hair colours, including darker and tanned skin. Laser relies on pigment in the hair, so it may not be effective on white or grey hair. We don’t treat anyone who is pregnant, and some medical conditions and medicines that increase light sensitivity may rule treatment out, which we check at your consultation.
